ChatIt · Account Deletion
Delete your ChatIt account
You can permanently delete your ChatIt account and the personal data we hold about you. There are two ways to do it.
Heads up: Account deletion is permanent. You will lose access to your username, your message history, and any rooms you've created. This cannot be undone.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app
1Fastest method
- Open the ChatIt app and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Account.
- Scroll down and tap Deactivate account.
- Confirm. Your account is deactivated immediately.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
2If you can't access the app
If you cannot sign in or no longer have the app installed, send an email to:
In your email, include:
- Your full ChatIt username (e.g.
@yourname:global.chat-it.net) - A confirmation that you are the owner of the account and want it deleted
We may ask you to verify ownership before processing the request, to protect you from someone deleting your account fraudulently. We will confirm by email when deletion is complete.

What is not deleted
Some data may remain after account deletion:
- Messages on other users' devices. Encrypted messages you sent to others remain on their devices until they delete them. We cannot remove them.
- Records required by law. If we are legally required to retain certain records (for example, in connection with a child-safety investigation or a tax obligation), we may keep them for the legally required period.
- Aggregated/anonymized data. Statistics that don't identify you may be retained.
